Editorial Methodology

Maintained by the PayoutAuditLab Testing Team · Last updated October 10, 2026

Every review, comparison and guide on PayoutAuditLab is produced by the PayoutAuditLab Testing Team under the framework on this page. It explains what we measure, how we measure it, what evidence we keep, and the rules that stop commercial relationships from affecting results. When a review says "in our test", it means the process below was followed and the evidence is on file.

1. Payout and Redemption Speed Testing

We time every withdrawal or prize redemption ourselves, using an account opened by our team.

  1. Eligible account. The account is opened by a team member who is physically located in an eligible state or province, using their own verified identity. We never use a VPN or false details to reach a platform.
  2. Identity verification first. KYC is completed before timing starts, and verification time is logged separately so it does not distort the payout figure.
  3. Playthrough completed. Any playthrough or wagering requirement is completed under the platform's published rules before a request is made.
  4. Timer starts at the request. The stopwatch starts when the withdrawal or redemption request is submitted, with a timestamped screenshot.
  5. Timer stops when funds arrive. For crypto, that is the on-chain confirmation in our wallet, recorded with the transaction ID (TXID). For ACH, Interac or e-wallets, it is the moment funds appear in the receiving account, recorded with the bank reference. "Approved" status inside the platform does not stop the clock.
  6. Evidence retained. Screenshots, TXIDs and bank references are kept on file for every published figure.
  7. Re-testing. Each listed platform is re-tested at least once per quarter, and sooner when readers report delays. The date on each review shows when it was last audited.

Until a test has been completed, figures on our pages are shown as bracketed placeholders, never as estimates presented as results.

2. Provably Fair Seed Verification

For platforms that offer provably fair games, we check a sample of rounds from every test session.

  1. Before playing, we record the published SHA-256 hash of the active server seed outside the platform.
  2. We set our own client seed and log the nonce of each sampled round.
  3. After the session we rotate seeds, which reveals the original server seed.
  4. We hash the revealed seed and confirm it matches the commitment recorded in step 1.
  5. We recompute each sampled result with HMAC-SHA256 using open Web Crypto standards, independently of the platform's own verifier, and compare it with the platform's round history.

Any mismatch is published in the review. Anyone can repeat these checks with our freebrowser-based verifier, which runs entirely on the user's device.

3. Licensing and Terms Checks

4. Geo-Compliance and Anti-Circumvention Policy

5. How Ratings Are Calculated

Each platform receives weighted scores for payout or redemption speed, licensing and player protection, bonus fairness, game fairness, banking options and support. The weights are shown on every review, and the overall score is the weighted total. Scores are recalculated after each re-test.

6. Commercial Disclosure and Independence

7. Corrections

If you believe a figure or statement is wrong, contact us with details. We re-check the evidence, correct errors promptly, and update the "last audited" date on the affected page.
